Thai trash collectors threatened by continued waste imports in China Dialogue

A story I researched, wrote and photographed is now up on the website China Dialogue. The story is about the collective bargaining power of Bangkok’s waste collectors, known as saleng, who have become strong allies to the environmental movement trying to pressure the Thai government to stop the important of foreign waste, particularly plastic.

I'd previously only ever looked at the issue of importing foreign waste from an environmental perspective. But after working on this story I realised the problem is much more far reaching.
